It's June!

Somehow we managed to arrive at June already.  Last month was a lot of fun.  The highlight being the Regina Prairie Piecemakers Quilt Show.  I took my husband for the first time.  He really enjoyed it and had fun talking with all the quilters (and non-quilters) that visited our booth.  And I really enjoyed being able to share with him what quilt shows are all about.

We've had many hot days and some rain (hooray!) already and this morning was particularly hot and humid.  A little weird for a place with a normally dry climate.  Nevertheless it still makes for good sewing weather.
As ever, we are always keeping busy at the shop.  We've had our first Jelly Roll Rug class.  It was a full house with lots of stitching going on.  And some really fantastic rugs were being made.
Yesterday we had our Locker Hooking class with J.Linda.  It's another "old timey" method of mat/rug making and a great way to use up strips of scrap fabric.
We are looking forward to our Basic Dress class next Saturday (which has been sold out for some time)
and then a Ruler Quilting class at the end of the month.

We've received some more great fabrics.  Unscripted from Sweet Bee Designs is in the shop.  Did you know that Sweet Bee Designs is Canadian?  It feels good to have fabrics coming from another Canadian company (Northcott is also Canadian) and to support them.

And speaking of Northcott we also received our first bolt of fabric with Advent Calendars on them.  These are hugely popular every year.

Also from Northcott we have received a line of blenders called Essence.  Many beautiful colours which I understand will work well with the theme of the next Saskatoon Quilters' Guild quilt show! (Oct 2019)
This month also brings the release of our new offering for the Row By Row Experience 2018!

There is certainly lots to look forward to!
I hope everyone has a beautiful June.  For those of you with kids at home this month can be very hectic.  Don't forget to carve out a little "me" time and sew a few stitches.  You'd be surprised how much you can accomplish in 15 minutes a day and how much better you'll feel in spite of feeling pulled in all directions.
Until next time, Happy Sewing!
