Pillows,

You might have noticed the cushions that i sewed for the window at the store:

 they were the perfect size to have some fun with free motion quilting

 I had used fat quarters to piece the fronts of the cushions, so I just used the leftover pieces for the backs,

 I think they are really cheerful

I love cushions and pillows, in all different sizes.

Today is a day when I want to get lots of things done. Which is good because I have lots of projects on the go.

Every so often I get that feeling that I need to cut down the number of things I'm working on. That means that I have to finish some things off. Well a lot of these projects are work-related ha ha.  Having the shop lets me rationalize making all sorts of things, just to see what they will  look like. That way I can display them at the store and other people who have been wondering the same thing, will know what they look like and then be able to decide if they want to make them or not.

So today, this is some progress I have made…

Okay well not technically this morning but last night I got the findings also non-to this beautiful starburst quilt. I talked about it sometime ago, and it's made almost all from art gallery fabrics. I just love it. It's been washed and dried in the dryer so it's all wrinkled and thick.

I sewed on the binding by machine to my little stars table runner  sewn from primitive gatherings fabrics. Now I just have to hand stitch the binding to the back.

I finished the 42 blocks for my propellor quilt!

And ever since this little booklet on monograms Arrived last week I've been itching to monogram something.  I decided that my love of decorated tea towels would be a good collection to add to, And so I'm going to monogram this striped tea towel with dark olive coloured thread. 

Finally, for those of you who like Crosstitch I thought I would let you know that I am still progressing on my counted cross stitch alphabets sampler and have only eight letters left to do

Reflections

It's happened again... I am piecing together blocks of brightly colored fabric, and then I notice that the same colors are reflected in something in my environment.

I might have mentioned how much I love Art Gallery fabrics, and the last batch we got in are especially beautiful. 

As I sat at the sewing machine, I noticed my little container holding basting pins...  there were the same colors -- mustard yellow, turquoise, blue, white,

Other works in progress

When I made the page about the works in progress, I only listed the ones in Saskatoon. Now that I am in Savannah, I must own up to the fact that I have projects on the go here as well. These are two that I have worked on this week. One is star quilt that I am making from a free pattern download From the Westminster fabrics site. Westminster was taken over by free spirit fabrics so may be the pattern is on the free spirit website. I will look it up when I go on my laptop. Right now I am just on my iPad.
The fabrics are nearly all from art gallery fabrics, that had just come in to the store a few days before I traveled to Savannah. They are and Shades of turquoise, gray, white and gold. I really like this color combination.
The other project started with some vintage grandmother flower garden blocks that I purchased in Houston. A few months ago I decided to set them with triangles of Black and off-white prints.
I had them on my design wall when I took the photograph. Just now when I was looking at it I rotated it to see how it looks when hexagons are oriented the other way.

Apron

I really like Art Gallery Fabrics, which are designed and manufactured by Pat Bravo.  She also has a blog, which there is a link to on the side-bar.  This morning I went there to see what she was up to, and  a couple of days ago she wrote about her "Spice it up Apron", here

Well, of course I was excited by how pretty it was, and so this afternoon, I got some fabrics from the shop,,

 ... by Art Gallery Fabrics, of course!!  (Why do I like them so much?  because 1. they are gorgeous, 2. they are a 200 thread count and a nice weight 3. the patterns are so clean and fresh,..)

 And then I came home and started to sew it! 
Actually, I did finish it, but will take a photo of it tomorrow, when the sun is out.  I'll take it to the shop of course, so you can see it in real life, and even try it on if you like!!
